Warning Signs Are Specific

When I was thinking about writing this article on Spiritual Warning Signs, I wanted to tie the piece into something familiar. Immediately road warning signs like Slow Down, School Zone, Wet Paint, Accident Ahead, and Move Over came to mind. These warnings are specific and leave no room for doubt as to their meaning.

The Bible says God’s Spiritual Warning Signs are so understandable they leave no room for doubt about their meaning? Though the warning signs are clear, many people are blind to the obvious. Here are examples from the Bible that prove even biblical heroes fail to heed God’s Warning Signs.

Adam and Eve

“The Lord God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden to work it and watch over it. And the Lord God commanded the man, ‘You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for on the day you eat from it, you will certainly die.’”

(Genesis 2:15-17)

Noah

“Then God said to Noah, ‘I have decided to put an end to every creature, for the earth is filled with wickedness because of them; therefore, I am going to destroy them along with the earth. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood.’”

(Genesis 6:13-14)

David

“Why then have you despised the command of the Lord by doing what I consider evil? You struck down Uriah the Hittite with the sword and took his wife as your own wife—you murdered him with the Ammonite’s sword. Now, therefore, the sword will never leave your house because you despised Me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own wife.” (2 Samuel 12:9-10)

King David ignored six of God’s Warning Signs.

Learn God’s Ten Spiritual Warning Signs so you can recognize them in yourself or help a loved one who may live a hazardous life. In short, the Ten Spiritual Warning Signs are 

  1. I am the Lord thy God! Thou shall have no other Gods but me!
  2. Thou shall not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain!
  3. Thou shall keep the Sabbath Day holy!
  4. Thou shall honor father and mother!
  5. Thou shall not kill!
  6. Thou shall not commit adultery!
  7. Thou shall not steal!
  8. Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor!
  9. Do not let thyself lust after thy neighbor’s wife!
  10. Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s house, nor his farm, nor his cattle, nor anything that is his!
