Tea Is My Breakfast Drink of Choice

August 19, 2020 –

Coffee is one of the most often consumed brewed drinks. There was a time when I drank three or four cups a day. When I retired, I cut back to one cup at breakfast; black and no cream or sugar.

I seldom purchased coffee at Starbucks. People don’t drink coffee at Starbucks; they spent the time deciding whether they wanted a Cappuccino, Espresso, Latte, Macchiato, Frappuccino, or Mocha. Next, you had to decide on the size of the drink: Short, (8 ounces), Tall (12 ounces), Grande (16 ounces), Venti (20 ounces), and Venti Iced (24 ounces). What happened to the original black coffee served in a coffee cup?

We get hooked on coffee when we are young. As prices of coffee increase and our Social Security check stays the same, many people look for an alternate choice.

For a time, I had stomach problems, and my doctor attributed the problem to coffee. So, I switched to hot tea. To my delight, this aromatic beverage I prepare by pouring boiling water into a cup and then drop a tea bag into the cup and let it steep. I find tea superior to coffee, and my stomach agrees.

After water, tea is the most widely consumed drink in the world. Tea is my breakfast drink of choice.
