Second Chance

September 24, 2021 –

I am thinking about my dinner today of andouille crusted grouper. When the server asked for my dessert order, I said, “You don’t order dessert after eating this blackened grouper fillet crusted with a blend of panko breadcrumbs, creamy parmesan cheese, and finely diced Cajun sausage. To even think dessert is insulting to the meal and the chef.”

My wife and I used to dine at this restaurant several times a month. Recently, we invited friends to join us for dinner and enjoy the superb seafood. It should be illegal to go from a top-grade restaurant to a bottom-of-the-chain eating experience. Our meals were late, the entrée was cold, and the food was tasteless. Nothing was good except for the tea.

We experienced negative customer service due to compromised food quality and a lackluster staff, two ingredients that will derail any restaurant’s strategy.

Today we gave the restaurant a second chance, and they rewarded us with the quality meal I described above. In learning from our last eating experience and taken a second chance, we had an excellent meal.
