My family’s first radio was magical. As a kid, I would listen to it for hours. When I turned it on, I heard the brass notes of the William Tell Overture introduced the story of The Lone Ranger, who, along with his faithful Indian companion, Tonto, fought to bring justice to the untamed West. Dial another station and the Man of Steel Superman, who came from planet Krypton to save the world. His parents sent him to Earth as a baby in a small spaceship. One hour later, Batman donned his iconic scalloped cape and pointed cowl and took to the shadowy streets, skies, and rooftops of Gotham City.
Today, I look back on the stories of these superheroes and find that all of them had a stringent moral code and a strong sense of justice. Life was simpler when I was a child; right was right, and wrong was wrong. In my childhood, the good guy was good, and the bad guy was bad.
Times have changed, and the once immutable values are now transitional. God has not changed. He says evil is evil, wickedness is wickedness, and a hard heart is a hard heart. He also tells us that saved is saved. Let God shape your spirit.
