Life is not a Game of Monopoly

December 1, 2021 –

I started playing Monopoly© when I was nine years old. And I enjoyed buying the four railroads: the Pennsylvania, B&O, Reading, and Short Line. The board game starts with the players rolling two dice to move around the game board, buying and trading properties. At the end of the game, the player with the most money is declared the winner.

The starting point on the board is “GO.” Each time a player passed GO, they collected 200 dollars. The exception was when you drew a card instructing you to go to jail and not pass GO.

I find that life has its own Go /No Go situations. When we complete a goal, we receive a reward of experience to help us reach our next objective. Choosing not to go, we fail before even starting.

Parker Brothers began marketing Monopoly as a multi-player economics-themed board game on November 5, 1935. It’s 2021, success is not a board game, and life is not a boring lifestyle. Juice up your life. Think positive. Be enthusiastic (even if you must fake it until the enthusiasm swells up inside of you.

There will be moments that test your desire for success. But if you remain steadfast and believe in yourself, you will be rewarded.
