Gift-Giving

December 22, 2021 –

People get excited as Christmas day approaches. Children expect Santa to bring them lots of toys. Adults have their wish lists. Adults and children anticipate December the 25th each year.

Each Christmas, the right gift for a husband, wife, children, nanny, and papa becomes more difficult. The National Retail Federation expects shoppers to spend an average of $998 on gifts and other holiday expenses during the 2021 holiday season. This year with the pandemic and problems in the supply chain, you may not be able to give the gift you want to share.

We must factor time into the difficulty of purchasing gifts. Often the pressure of time diminishes the spirit of gift-giving. My wife and I solved part of our gift-giving dilemma by sending gift cards. This idea of giving a gift card seems wrong to me. There is less personalization in a gift card.

Of all the holidays, I like Christmas best. The other holidays do not convey God’s message, “Unto you a Savior is born,” the best gift of all.
