Don’t Look for Level Plains. Climb Mountains

August 2, 2023 –

“Our lives should have depth, which means pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones and not taking the easy way out all the time.” – Author: Marie Tillman.

There is no easy way to go from the plain to the mountaintop. No person has developed a three-step program for reaching the summit. People often seek the easy way and hope to avoid life’s obstacles. But the obstacles are there to make you a stronger climber.

Walking on the plains is easy. Climbing mountains is difficult. Climbing tall mountains is almost impossible. Don’t Look for Level Plains. Climb mountains with practice and determination, and you can climb further daily. Welcome the struggle. Accept the challenge. Focus on your goal of climbing tall mountains. Climb your mountain. There’s never anything to be gained by walking the plains. Don’t be guilty of taking the simple path.

The Old Testament hero, Caleb, at 85, showed resolve in his request to Joshua, “Now, therefore, give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said.” (Joshua 14:12)

Straddling your mountain with one foot in Heaven and the other on Earth, you see clearly that the climb was worth it.
